Aktra or Aktion Translocal e.V. strives to end discrimination and move towards a more just and accessible world by engaging and supporting individuals and communities of cultural workers, activists, scholars, NGO- and care workers and human rights defenders. We initiate projects ourselves and support others in bringing to life their ideas, strengthening decolonial, queer feminist* and crip* movements.

Aktra operates according to the principles of self-government, solidarity and decoloniality*, questions hierarchies and unequal logics of resource distribution within both the organization and its broader network. 

Aktra has been founded by activists and NGO-workers from Germany, South Caucasus, Eastern Europe, North and Central Asia based in Germany. We are not limiting ourselves to working only within one region, as the issues we deal with are global and interconnected. We welcome everyone to contact us to get to know our work more closely and get involved by becoming a member. 

Previous and running projects and initiatives of our members include Makeout, ДазХiп, feminist translocalities, Tbilisi Architecture Biennial, re:imagine your city and Beda. All of us have organized conferences, exhibitions, study trips, workshops and residences both in Germany and abroad. Recent examples include the exhibition Өмә in Berlin, the residency and performance metamorph in Tbilisi, Georgian Pavilion in Venice.
